Wind Drift & Wind Value Charts

This simple chart is a quick way to give a value for wind. With three steps you can use this chart.

Step 1: Know your distance to target, with the array of modern range finders this should be a snap

Step 2: A full value of wind is 10 mph at 90 degrees to the muzzle. So to put it simply 1 MOA or MIL of wind is 10 mph at 90 degrees to the muzzle.

Step 3: Know the actual wind speed. This can be difficult without a wind meter but the Beufort scale can give you some tips on judging wind between you and the target.

Step 4: Calculate, using the two charts one can determine wind speed and the value of hold in for a given distance.

Understand that the longer the shot the more drift.
